Our Tradition
Dr. W. Gregory Chernoff is an aesthetic, reconstructive, and laser surgeon who is known worldwide for his research and lecturing on the most contemporary forms of cosmetic, reconstructive, and laser techniques. His research has been instrumental in the development of laser parameters used by physicians worldwide. He has been featured on NBC Dateline, the ABC Nightly News, and the BBC World News. He has been featured in many publications including Time and Newsweek magazines. He is well known for his compassionate and humanistic approach to the field of aesthetic surgery. For many years, Dr. Chernoff has provided pro bono services to domestic violence patients nationwide. Growing up in an abusive environment, Dr. Chernoff knows first hand the physical and emotional side effects of this trauma. He has taken care of Oklahoma bombing survivors and continues to provide pro bono aesthetic and reconstructive surgery as well as laser therapy to victims of violence. Most insurance companies deny further restorative surgery to patients once life-threatening conditions have ceased to exist. Many victims of violence are then forced to "live with their scars" when they were not capable to paying for restorative or reconstruction. Dr. Chernoff's tradition of giving selflessly of his time, funds, and support will continue to flourish through the Royia Grizzell Foundation for Victims of Violence.

Dr. Chernoff's recognition that violence victims' wounds extend much deeper than the skin has helped him to form a tremendous support network consisting of members of the clergy, psychologists, and caseworkers who help to complete the total care of these patients.
